Philadelphia, Pa- The SlapGods told you we were back from vacation this morning and we werent playing. After dropping the Damu single “Fo Dat B” in the AM, we are following it up in a big way with Omelly’s “The Come Up”. The song isn’t even being released on a music player, but rather directly through the SlapGods.com, so today this is the only way to hear this new trap slap. The uptempo track was  produced by sexy female producer Tasha Catour. If you haven’t listened to any of her work you will now. The song is perfect for summer. And Omelly even raps about “All White Whips in The Summer”.

  • The song is really about Omelly’s dealing with his own Come Up in the rap game. Often labeled as Meek Mill’s cousin, which is fact. The truth is, and Meek even raps about it, that both Omelly and Meek rapped and slanged drugs from a young age together. Meek just happened to catch the break first. Now years later, there is no argument that Meek’s career, as one of the best rappers alive, is a lofty goal for Omelly to catch. MOST would have just hung it up and been a side kick, but Omelly is a real one. He served time, he came up hard and he has seen the finer things in life. The man has been pushing on and has really excelled. Since signing a digital distribution agreement with Empire back in January, he has amassed millions of real spins and downloads on tons of platforms. The single “War Pain” which features Meek Mill hit 2.5 million spins in short time. His lead single “Drill Something” off his “On My Time Volume.2” hit 350,000 on Spotify and the follow up single “Play By The Rules” featuring YFN Lucci has hundreds of thousands of spins on The World Star Hip Hop Youtube page and website. The man is following up all that success by releasing this new single as he prepares for the digital release of his classic LP “Gunz & Butter” due out in late August or early September.
